Having worked for a number of blue chip companies in the civil engineering industry for 15 years and having managed the successful delivery of multi-million pound public infrastructure projects, I turned my hand to the property sector in 2005 by setting up the Northwood's Liverpool Branch in West Derby. Having worked on public buildings within Merseyside for the previous 5 years I had an excellent insight into Liverpool's property market and was able to establish the business quickly and watch it flourish into one of Liverpool's leading estate and letting agents. With over 13 years working with Northwood as a property professional I am able to advise a wide customer base on all matters relating to property.
Director and Company Secretary
I worked in the private and corporate finance sector for 25 years, employed as a bank manager for a leading high street branch and team leader in corporate centre banking, before joining Northwood to provide essential financial accounting (including preparation of the companys financial statements and management reports) and management accounting. I also manage the accounts team responsible for rent collection, landlord payments, payment of contractors and payment of arrears.
I joined Northwood in January 2007 as an administrator and I have worked my way through promotion to the position of Branch Manager. Over the 12 years that I have been with Northwood I have accumulated a wealth of information in a variety of roles as I have progressed through the organisation. I am now responsible for the day to day running of the branch which includes the management of a large property portfolio and ensuring that all policies, procedures and key documentation is compliant with current industry regulation and guidelines. I also provide training and professional development to staff to ensure that the office runs efficiently and my team delivers the best possible customer service standards.
I have worked in estate agency as a senior professional for over 20 years and consequently I have a huge breadth of experience and expertise in property. Having lived and worked all my life close to Northwood’s Liverpool office, I have an enviable knowledge of the local property market. I enjoy using my knowledge and experience to offer landlords and vendors guidance and advice (including product demonstrations) to help them maximise the potential of their properties. I also coach and act as mentor to other staff within the branch.
I joined Northwood as an apprentice in March 2010 and through my training completed my NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration and NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service. My hard work and endeavour has enabled me to progress to Senior Negotiator. I have established a prominent position within the team and I am one of the first points of contact for customers that make enquiries through the office. I take pride in delivering the highest quality service to vendors and landlords and I work hard to find the perfect property for buyers and tenants by exploiting every lead we receive in the office and accompanying viewings when necessary.
I joined Northwood in February 2008 as an apprentice and have combined my formal training with on the job support to develop skills in business administration, particularly financial control. My role involves processing landlord, tenant and contractor payments and reconciling against bank statements, reconciling contractor invoices against works orders, producing landlord statements, assisting with the control of income, overhead, client money and petty cash accounts, producing VAT returns and assisting in the production of management reports using Sage 50 Accounts.
Having graduated from the City of Liverpool College with a BTEC Level 3 in Journalism, I gained 18 months management experience in operations and marketing. I love social media and marketing and I consider myself to be a “people person” with a very positive attitude who embraces challenges. I have been able to transfer my skills readily into the property sector and I now enjoy building relationships with customers to ensure that they receive the highest level of customer service possible. I do my utmost to match applicant and tenants to the right properties making sure that they find that perfect home to buy or let; I negotiate lets / sales, vet prospect tenants, pre-qualify sales applicants and progress tenant applications and agreed sales offers to completion.
I am a highly experienced sales negotiator with over 20 years engaged in the property sector. I have worked extensively across Liverpool in a range of roles from negotiator to branch manager, which latterly has included career breaks to raise my family. I now balance my home life and work commitments with a part-time position and I am still as committed as ever to great customer service. With an extensive knowledge of the local sales market, I am perfectly positioned to offer expert advice to both the buyer and the seller.
Negotiator / Maintenance Clerk
I have worked in sales and administration for over 30 years with 12 years spent working in busy estate agency environments. I am hard working, confident and enthusiastic . I enjoy customer interaction and the challenges that this presents. As a versatile individual, I deal with all enquiries in the office; my main focus is arranging and conducting tenant viewings, negotiating lets, preparing inventories, conducting tenant check-ins, inspections and check-outs.
Negotiator / Maintenance Clerk
I started working for Northwood in June 2011 as a viewing clerk, a job which I undertook for 4 years. This gave me a good understanding of Northwood's property portfolio which has helped me enormously as Maintenance Clerk. I am now involved in most of the tenant customer journey, including viewings, producing inventories, check-ins, carrying out property inspections, making sure that properties are maintained in an acceptable state and condition, tenant check-outs, identifying works required after check-out (applying the principle of fear wear and tear) and managing the return of deposit.
I completed my BTEC Level 3 in Business Studies at Broughton Hall Sixth Form in 2017. I have lived in Old swan my entire life and I have recently gained an interest in the local property market, so I am delighted to be given an opportunity to combine by business skills with this newly found interest. My main duties are to manage relationships with landlords and tenants regarding state, condition and repair of properties, commission reactive maintenance work during tenancies, implement renovation and refurbishment works to be carried out during void periods and maintain works records.
Having completed my BTEC and A Level studies at Maricourt Sixth Form College in 2018, I am the newest member of the team. I carry out most office administration tasks which include filing correspondence, producing property particulars and window cards, typing letters and inventories, producing landlord / tenant agreements and renewals, informing councils and utility suppliers of change in occupancy.
