What to do in and around Wrexham this Spring

One of the best things about living and working in Wrexham is the wide range of events held throughout the local region. From our patron saint’s day parade, to comedy events, artisan markets, cultural coffee mornings, inclusion days and Easter events galore! Let’s not forget our wealth of parks and nature reserves. We are indeed fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful areas in Wales.

In this blog we share just a few of the fantastic events happening as we enter Springtime in Wrexham.

1 March – St David’s Day 2023

There will be entertainment from various artists from 12:00pm onwards, the parade will assemble at 12.45pm before starting at 1.00pm. A warm welcome is extended to all! Find out more on the wrexhameventsguide.co.uk

3 March – March Comedy Club

Held at Llangollen Town Hall, this fab comedy club line-up includes Jamie MacDonald (QI & Have I Got News For You) and Zoe, Simon Lomas, Kelly Edgar and Silky. Tickets cost £12.50 and are available to purchase from Llangollenfringe.co.uk

4 March – Chris McCausland: Speaky Blinder

Carrying on the laughs, Chris McCausland, Star of the Royal Variety Performance, Would I Lie to You?, Have I Got News for You, QI, and Live at the Apollo is appearing at the William Aston Hall on 4th March, tickets cost £19 from williamastonwrexham.com

11 March – Wrexham Artisan Market – The Spring Edition

This event is a great way to support local business, indulge in some retail therapy and end up with some pretty special and unique wares and produce. You will find a wide range of fantastic independent businesses, with a great selection of treats, products, food and gifts. Definitely one not to be missed! 12 March – Inclusion Day at Xplore! Science Discovery Centre

The inclusion day at Xplore! has been designed to make the centre more welcoming for those with an additional need or disability. Held once a month on a Sunday they will be hosting a drop-in version of the science show that will allow visitors to interact in a way that feels comfortable for them. 14 March – Cultural Coffee Morning – Attended by The National Lottery.

The aim of this coffee morning is to promote equality, diversity and culture within Wrexham and North Wales. The event promises to bring together people from all different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures. This networking meeting talks about working together, collaborating and funding avenues. This will be held at YaB, Wrexham, you can register your interest via the Facebook event page.

25 March – The Spring Meeting at Bangor-On-Dee Racecourse

Don a hat and head down to Bangor-on-Dee for the Spring Meeting. Watch the race from the Open Course, this relaxed enclosure is perfect for families, offering a large open space from which to watch the action on the track. Includes family themed fixtures and additional activities for youngsters to enjoy at no extra charge. Tickets are from £7 (early bird) find out more about this event on bangorondeeraces.co.uk

5 – 10 April Easter Trail at Erddig

Can you help a lost rabbit navigate through the garden and back to the house in time for his Easter tea party? Complete the trail of activities to guide the errant rabbit home and collect a chocolate egg. This fabulously fun Easter adventure costs just £3 per child and includes a trail map, pencil, bunny ears and a chocolate egg upon completion. Daily – Trim Trail at Alyn Waters Country Park

Open every day and costing just £1 to park (donations gratefully received), as the weather improves (fingers crossed) why not try out the Trim Trail. The Trim Trail is fun and easy to use, the exercise equipment is designed to improve strength, stamina, balance and co-ordination. The balance and co-ordination equipment is especially suitable for the young, while the parallel bars and sit up benches will really tone up the grown-ups.
