Job Description

To work as part of a small team generating new lettings and estate agency business for this busy Northwood office in the heart of Reading.  Northwood is the UK’s leading provider of guaranteed rental income and has an expanding network of over 85 offices offering services to over 15,000 landlords nationwide.

At Northwood Reading we are passionate about offering an exceptionally high standard of customer service and peace of mind to our landlords and vendors.  We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to help generate new business within the Reading and West Berkshire area.

The successful candidate may have some estate agency or lettings experience, will be friendly and well-presented with the ability to relate well to people, and will be expected to identify new business opportunities then tenaciously follow-up leads and develop business opportunities all the way through to a signed contract. 

Principal Responsibilities

Whilst providing the highest standard of service to all Northwood clients and ensuring their positive perception of the company and its services, the key activities of this role are:

·         Canvassing in the local area to develop leads

·         Managing social media marketing campaigns

·         Following up on enquiries, past and present, to generate market appraisals and valuations

·         Developing other new business opportunities alongside the Franchise Director

·         Attending market appraisals and presenting Northwood’s services to best effect

·         Carrying out all administration and paperwork relating to new clients

·         Preparing and presenting formal proposals to the client

·         Proactively following up on formal proposals through to acceptance of the contract

·         Handover of completed new business to the delivery team

·         Being part of the office-based team, answering general enquires on the phone and welcoming potential clients to the office

·         Other activities as requested by the Franchise Director

Required Skills/Experience

·         Reliable and honest with good communications skills

·         Ability to listen and respond appropriately

·         Good telephone manner

·         Well-presented and smartly dressed always

·         Tenacious and self-motivated

·         Ability to develop good relationships with clients

·         Well-organised, punctual, thorough and with good attention to detail

·         Social media and marketing skills

·         Has a “can-do” approach and able to work at pace

·         Able to take the initiative and work with little supervision

·         Full UK Driving license and use of own car


Will be mainly performance based, with financial incentives based on actual new business secured

Will be based on experience and abilities
