Huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners who attended the annual Pride of Inverurie Awards on Friday! It was, yet again, a fantastic evening celebrating the very best of Inverurie business and community.
This was Northwood North East’s fourth year of sponsoring an award, and we were honoured to present the Future Focus Award to winners Michael Kelman and Connor Killoh of Inverurie Golf Club.
The Future Focus Award honours ‘great teaching, coaching or mentoring from people who demonstrate through their activities the role coaching and teaching play in encouraging, transforming lives and inspiring others’.
Michael and Connor were nominated for their ‘dedication, enthusiasm and tireless work’ in helping to build one of the most successful junior sections in the region, growing the membership to full capacity at 225 junior members. A particular highlight has been the growth of the girls’ section, which now boasts 29 members and has been recognised nationally by Scottish Golf as one of the leading girls’ golf programmes in the country.
Northwood Inverurie Branch Manager Juliet Livingstone presented Michael and Connor with their awards.
“Both Michael and Connor are very deserving winners; they are incredibly hard working and passionate, going above and beyond in their roles at Inverurie Golf Club, where they have created a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for young people of all ages and abilities to develop their golfing skills.
“The Awards evening was great fun as usual, and it was heartwarming to watch the Inverurie community come together and support the incredible people who live and work here.”
