There’s a day for everything so it seems but we must admit National Teddy Bears Picnic Day on 10th July was up there amongst the cutest. Don’t worry you haven’t missed out though as World Picnic Month covers the whole of July and with the temperatures soaring across the UK during the School Summer break, it certainly makes for a great reason to base a day out. So grab your chequered blanket and get creative with those bear snacks whilst we provide you with a run through on our top 3 picnic hotspots in Aberdeen.

Hazlehead Park

Hazlehead park is the ideal meeting point between the city and the shire offering an array of activities and attractions.

There truly is something for all the family from golf courses to a maze, to a pets corner and iconic gardens. The children’s playground is filled with a variety of equipment for all ages and there is a popular park café – though this is currently under maintenance.

Hazlehead Park, Aberdeen definitely provides a fun-packed day out and if you throw in the addition of a teddy bears picnic then you will be creating treasured memories in no time!

With 28 acres of beautiful Royal Deeside scenery and featuring models of your favourite nursery rhyme and fairy-tale characters you can really feed your kids imaginations – and their appetites on one of the picnic benches provided.

Duthie Park

A picnic by the boating pond? Followed by a walk around the Winter Gardens and some fun in the adventure play areas? Sounds like another great day out in Aberdeen to us!
