As founding members of SAFEagent, Northwood Bromley is incredibly proud to be supporting SAFEAgent week for its 5th year. Join us on the 6th- 10th June in continuing to ensure consumers have only the best of experiences when working with lettings agents.
Founded in 2011, SAFEagent is all about giving both landlords and tenants the peace of mind that comes from knowing your money is protected. Recognised by Government and other industry and consumer organisations, the SAFEagent logo signifies trust, as a fully endorsed Safe agent protects tenants and landlords money through the use of a client money protection scheme. This is done by agents like us, operating and maintaining a separate designated client account where money is held totally separate from the operating funds of the firm. Client money protection schemes (CMP) are run by recognised industry organisations to provide accreditation and/or regulation and are completely independent from the agents themselves.
SAFEagent awareness week is all about industry stake-holders and SAFEagents like Northwood Dulwich, coming together from across the country for a community media event. This is to focus on the importance of client money protection and highlight the importance to consumers of using only those agents willing to provide the peace of mind that their money is protected.
John Midgley, Chair of SAFEagent commented:
“This year’s campaign comes at a pivotal point in the campaign, where client money protection is very much on the political agenda. Baroness Hayter has been working tirelessly to make client money protection mandatory for all lettings agents, and it is vital that this year’s campaign reaches politicians as well as landlords and tenants.
“SAFEagent - Fully Endorsed - is a reliable mark denoting firms that protect landlords and tenants’ money through Client Money Protection schemes. Set up 'by the industry, for the industry' and recognised by the Government, it is supported by Citizens Advice Bureaux, Shelter, Crisis, The Property Ombudsman, National Union of Students, My Deposits, OFT, the Trading Standards Institute.”
