New Pantone Colours 2022

Pantone have released their Fashion Colour Trend Report Spring/Summer 2022 and although it’s broadly a guide to the latest colour trends for the fashion industry, the ten colours highlighted in the report absolutely have a place in home colour trends for next year too. With names such as ‘Bubblegum’, ‘Popcorn’, ‘Coffee Quartz’ and the quirkily named ‘Fragile Sprout’, is your mouth watering for these colours yet? In this article, we look at the ten colours with Pantone’s descriptors and show ways they could work in your home.

Set of 15 trendy colors of spring-summer 2022 season. New York fashion week. Color and core classic palette.

1. Bubblegum – “sends a message of playfulness and positivity”

This beautiful, vibrant pink is Spring and Summer personified. With its playful feel, why not find fun accessories in bubblegum pink to brighten and bring cheer? John Lewis has a gorgeous exotic poppy and peacock embroidered pink cushion team it with this fun flamingo lamp from Graham and Green to create a playful pink menagerie.

2. Potpourri – “light-hearted and carefree fresh pastel pink”

By contrast to the vibrancy and depth of Bubblegum, Potpourri is a softer, more calming pink. Perfect for a bedroom, paired with silver accessories and a grey feature wall. To get you started, IKEA offer this beautiful upholstered soft pink bed frame.

3. Fragile Sprout – “sharp and acidic, visually arresting”

With its strong citrus vibe, you are sure to make a statement with this bold, in-your-face colour. Definitely visually arresting, an instant wow for any room can come with this gorgeous accent chair from Hodges and Hodges.

4. Sudan Brown – “naturally rich earth-baked brown tied to the great outdoors”

A beautifully calming brown, which can be used with the other colours in the report to great effect. For a contemporary feel to a home office space, why not try this rust effect wall mural in gorgeously earthy rich browns.

5. Cascade – “connected to cleansing waters, cools and refreshes”

We are in love with the soothing nature of this shade – makes us wistful for relaxing times by the sea. To bring a feel of coolness and calm, the Soho rug from Rug Vista in this soft shade can pair beautifully with the tones of Sudan Brown and Pot Pourri to make a peaceful haven to relax in.

6. Popcorn – “radiates warmth to all who embrace it”

This soft yellow is the epitome of Spring – reminiscent of newly emerging flowers and fluffy chicks. Bring the essence of Spring indoors by painting in this gentle yellow paint by Farrow and Ball. Pair with Wedgewood blue for a look of classic elegance or try medium grey for a contemporary look.

7. Orchid Bloom – “reminiscent of our heightened love for nature’s florals”

The soft lilac tones of Orchid Bloom take us right to swathes of pale purple crocuses, emerging from the soil to remind us of new life and growth after the rigours of Winter. As the lighter mornings and evenings come, a blackout blind in this gorgeous colour could be just the thing to keep you or the children asleep just a little longer.

8. Coffee Quartz – “flavourful brown that touches on both the basic and the glamorous”

We all need a hit of coffee in our lives to perk us up and this rich brown certainly does the trick. Create the perfect reading corner in a bright, sunny spot with this sumptuous velvet wing back chair, teamed with cushions in vibrant Spring shades.

9. Coral Rose – “whose energizing presence brings a sense of excitement”

The name of this colour sums it up perfectly – a definite coral with a leaning towards pink. Due to its punchy presence, this is the ideal colour to team with soft neutrals, greys and monochromes, along with metals such as copper and silver. How about pairing these gorgeously opulent coral velvet cushions with a grey sofa and a beautiful faux orchid from Dunelm.

10. Super Sonic – “electric in intensity”

Saving the most vibrant of all of the colours until last, Super Sonic is a bold, mid blue and just perfect for an accent wall or bathroom blinds. Oasis sang ‘I’m feeling supersonic, give me gin and tonic’ and we think this gloriously blue bistro table and chairs set from JD Williams is the perfect place to sit on a warm summer’s day sipping your drink of choice.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this round-up of the new Pantone colours for Spring/Summer 2022 and gained some inspiration for accessorising and using these beautiful colours in your home.
