Since opening our doors for the first time in 1995 we have always donated time and raised funds for charities up and down the country.
In 2013, we tragically lost our Managing Director and close friend, Nick Cooper, to pancreatic cancer. We decided to establish the Northwood Charitable Foundation to remind us all of Nick’s sizeable contribution to our company, and to the industry which he served so diligently.
The intention is to use the Foundation as a means of continuing to raise funds for causes close to our hearts.
The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
For several years the Foundation has been working closely with the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund who are dedicated to defeating pancreatic cancer through the funding of innovative research. Through a number of fundraising events involving everything from climbing the tallest mountain in Africa, through to swimming the channel, the employees of Northwood have done their best to make a difference.

A record-breaking swim across the channel
Greg Wood, Operations Manager at Northwood along with three equally crazy (but seriously strong swimmers) will be attempting to complete the fastest ever four person relay swim from England to France. They also aim to raise £7,000 to help beat pancreatic cancer in the process.
It's an incredible challenge and in order to beat the current record of 8 hours and 42 minutes they will need to swim a minimum of 4.5km per hour. To find out more or even more importantly make a donation (go on you know you want too!) go to their Just Giving page.
