What was your job title and duties before joining the Northwood family?
I worked for a rival letting agency, where I was a 'pre tenancy' administrator for two years. After this I joined another local property management company and co-ordinate a in house property management department.
Then a position as negotiator came up within Northwood Southampton and the prospect of being part of an ever growing business was very appealing, and the prospect to further my career within Northwood was an exciting opportunity.
What training did you receive when you came onboard?
I attended a full 2 weeks training course for sales and lettings
What on- going training is available to you?
There are constant refresher courses and a full variety of new courses made available to us on an on-going basis

What do you get up to day to day?
As ever, everyday day is different which is why I love this job, but generally no day is the same and some are more challenging than others but problem solving for staff, tenants and landlords is very rewarding and a key part in my every day job.
I still do occasional viewings, but generally I oversee the day to day running of the office and marketing.
What is your position now and when you started?
When I joined 4 years ago, I was employed as an admin/negotiator and have worked my way up to become the branch manager.
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new people, of which I meet many and I love the new challenges every new day brings.
What is so different about working for Northwood?
The saying, “you learn something new every day” is certainly true of Northwood, every day brings a new challenge and a new experience.
What is your greatest achievement with Northwood to date?
We have always prided ourselves of not soley being target driven and having excellent customer service which hopefully helps us to stand out from the crowd. An example of this is as below:
Although the vast majority of our business is lettings, the property sales that have been negotiated have to date never fallen through and we are very proud of that. And furthermore, the purchasers of one property were so pleased with the service they received from our office that they are still to this day very good friends, regularly emailing me updates and I have even been round for a cup of tea! I can see how the sale made a difference to their lives as they moved from a house to a flat with river views as a retirement home, which makes the job all the more worthwhile.
